That Cat Guy

-By Dan LuVisi

Hello everyone,

My name is Dan. Some people refer to me as "That Cat Guy" or often I'm mistaken for Jeff Goldblum. I tend to question if either are an insult or compliment.

When I'm not contemplating this inner-turmoil, I often draw, paint or write. It seems to pay the bills (well...) and I can't complain at the idea of waking up every morning to create new art for fun.

When I was asked by the cooler of Dan's to write for this blog, I pretty much said YES before he could even finish the dog-and-pony show of what Muddy Colors truly was. I've been a fan for a while, and have not only learned, but shared many of the posts from here. So to be invited to write alongside such talented and wise artists was a no-brainer in my answer back.

Now here, I have much to show, but not yet. If there's one thing to know about me (par cats and Goldblum), it's the fact that I enjoy a good tease. Maybe one could call it a slow burn.

I have many projects on the horizon which I couldn't be more excited to reveal. After finally printing my first book, LMS: Killbook of a Bounty Hunter, and having it released by the amazingly generous Dark Horse Comics, I have began to write and draw the continuing story in LMS Vol 1: Once Upon a Time in Amerika, which will be revealed Spring of this year.

Next, will be a new book I will be releasing called Bounty-Hunters, Brawlers, and Babes: A List of Gabriel's Most Infamous Clientele. This will be a brand-new collection of deadly characters that will be hunting down the protagonist, Gabriel, in further LMS stories.

Now that I'm done advertising, I will also be writing posts here on the journey of being an artist and building your own IP. Ha, I know, I'm still young, dumb, and naïve, but I've learned a thing or two through the process of creating this book that I would love to share with new-comers or other artists.

Until then, I'll leave you with some art of my very own son, Gabriel. I want to thank the team of Muddy Colors and Dan for inviting me to be a part of this. My many thanks, over and over.

Best,
Dan LuVisi
